Dr. Smith holds an M.Ed. in biology education and a Ph.D. in biomedical science. In addition to post doctorial studies in respiratory neurobiology he has completed NIH workshops genomic techniques. He has more than thirty years of experience in higher education and industry and is the author of several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Dr Smith holds several certifications in on-line teaching platforms. He has mentored students at all levels, from elementary school to postgraduate levels. These experiences taught him that the love and mastery of science and math should begin early in a childs development.
